Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about the Remote Virtual Assistant program and the application process.

Is this a paid opportunity?

Yes. All roles offered through the Student Affairs Office are paid. Compensation varies by partner organization and the specific scope of work and is disclosed to you before you accept any role.

How much can I expect to earn?

Pay is competitive and set by the partner organization based on the role's hours and responsibilities. Exact rates are confirmed in writing before you accept the role, so you'll always know what you're signing up for.

Who can apply?

Currently enrolled Rasmussen students from any program of study are eligible. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.

Do I need prior work experience?

No. These roles are designed for students, and training is provided by the partner organization. Reliability, attention to detail, and good written communication matter more than prior experience.

How long does the review process take?

The Student Affairs Office reviews submissions on a rolling basis and typically responds within two weeks. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by email to coordinate next steps with a partner organization.

How will I be contacted if I'm shortlisted?

By email — using your school email first, and the alternative email you provided as a backup. Make sure to check your spam folder occasionally during the review period.

Is my personal information kept private?

Your information is only shared with vetted partner organizations relevant to your application. It is not sold or used for marketing. By submitting the form, you consent to this limited sharing for the purpose of matching you with a role.

What happens after I'm matched with a partner?

The partner organization will reach out directly to introduce themselves, walk you through the role and onboarding, confirm your weekly schedule and pay, and set up the tools you'll use. You can decline any role you're matched with — there's no obligation.
